Updates
If you are a registered user, just download and instal the latest version. It will pick up the existing registration.
Trial Period & License
After an initial 21 day trial period, you will be required to purchase a license. See the license conditions and purchase methods on the software page.
Important
• The software is not sent, in physical or electronic form, by kagi or by anyone else. Download and install, from this site (see links to left), before purchasing a license.
• I am not always able to re-issue lost license codes. Use the About dialog to print the information and keep it in a safe place.
• License information is saved using the standard Java preferences mechanisms. Some overly-tight security settings can prevent this from happening; this can only be remedied by the user. All other preferences for DeNoise and DeNoiseLF will be similarly affected.
Payment methods
There are two methods of purchase:
• via the Kagi on-line store - they have automated servers which will issue the license code(s) by email. Pricing is in $US.
• direct using PayPal - this is done by myself using email and PayPal. Pricing is in $A.
DeNoiseLF
DeNoiseLF is an application for removing rumble and hum from your audio. DeNoiseLF is bundled with DeNoise and cannot be downloaded or licensed separately. It will run in trial mode so long as DeNoise is running in trial mode. Once a license code is entered into the DeNoise application, DeNoiseLF will automatically become licensed. You might have to quit DeNoise before this happens.
Download links for files specific to DeNoiseLF are in the Downloads area to the left.
Platforms
Mac OS X version (Important Notice)
The Mac OS X version uses Apple's built-in Java, which is a component of Mac OS X 10.2.6 and later, on both PowerPC and Intel.
Installation: Double-click the file DeNoise.dmg and it should mount as a volume containing the application, a manual and an html file pointing to this website. Drag them to a convenient place – probably the best suggestion is to make a new folder in the Applications folder, then put all three files there. It should not be in a folder or subfolder with a slash (/) in its name.
Microsoft Windows version
Microsoft stopped including Java with its operating systems some time ago, consequently there is a Windows installer which includes a Java run-time environment. This installer should also be used for an upgrade.
Installation: The installer DNinstall.exe is prepared using InnoSetup 5 by Jordan Russell. Shortcuts to the application and manual are installed in the Start->Programs system menu. I have tested it under Windows 98 SE, 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. It does not run under earlier Windows versions.
Java: Starting with version 2.1, a Java run-time environment is not bundled with the installer; furthermore the installer will remove any previous bundled Java run-time. This will ensure that users always use a current Java version. If necessary, you will be taken to Sun Computer's Java site when you first open DeNoise.
Linux version
There is a version for users who have Java installed (on Linux, etc). Because of the variety of virtual machines available, I cannot guarantee problem-free operation in all cases.
Installation: There is no installer. The zip archive DeNoise.zip contains the jar files, the manual and an html file. It requires a Java run-time (Java 1.4 or later). The main classes are JDeNoise and JDeRumble. The applications may be run from the command-line - typically "java -cp JDeNoise.jar JDeNoise" and "java -cp JDeRumble.jar JDeRumble".
